Meet our Woodstock Optometrists
Dr. Sarah Andreasen
Dr. Andreasen graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Degree in Optometry in 2001 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from 1997 as well. She gained tremendous pediatric experience working at the Board of Health researching the effectiveness of screening equipment for pre-school children. Her externship in Atlanta with the OMNI Eye Services allowed her to work alongside ophthalmologists specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, retinal diseases, cataracts, and anterior diseases. Dr. Andreasen enjoys all aspects of a primary care practice and sees patients of all ages.
Her goal is to make everyone’s eye health examination a personal and extraordinary experience. She strives for continuous improvement through peer evaluation and brainstorming as a member of ‘Eye Recommend’ Doctors group.
When not sharing her passion for optometry with patients, she enjoys running and has completed several 10K races including the annual Dairy Capital Run and finished her first half marathon in Toronto in 2007. She also likes to scrapbook photos of her two children and is an accomplished pianist and tenor saxophonist.
Dr. Jessica Nguyen
Dr. Jessica graduated in 2017 from the University of Waterloo of Optometry on the Dean's Honours list. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from the University of Guelph. She also had the privilege of completing her Ocular Disease and Therapeutics externship in Kentucky at the Lexington Veterans Medical Affairs Center. This rotation allowed her to gain experience on the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. Dr Nguyen has volunteered with ICARE International, which provides eye care to those in developing countries and she hopes to participate in more volunteer eye care projects abroad. Her clinical interests include managing ocular disease and vision therapy. Dr Nguyen is passionate about all aspects of optometric care and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She believes that patient-centered care is a primary goal and she works to ensure all her patients' concerns are addressed during their examination.
In her spare time, Dr Nguyen loves to cook and is always looking to try new recipes. She also enjoys hiking and travelling when time permits. She resides in Kitchener with her family and two adorable rabbits, Lexi and Jax.
Dr. Nguyen is currently booking patients and is excited to be a part of the Woodstock Community!
